Assam’s Forest Department, in collaboration with wildlife NGOs, has used satellite imagery and GPS tracking to map ten key elephant migration corridors between Kaziranga and the Bhutan border. These zones have been protected via community-based eco-fences, mobile alerts for villagers, and construction restrictions. Energy-efficient solar warning systems have been installed at problem-hotspots. The initiative not only reduces human–elephant conflict but also supports conservation-focused eco-tourism. Local communities will receive training as wildlife guides, opening new livelihood opportunities.
