In an effort to electrify last-mile transport, Delhi has rolled out the first phase of its e-rickshaw battery swapping network. Over 100 swapping stations, operated by private providers, allow drivers to exchange depleted batteries for fully charged ones within minutes. This approach addresses charging infrastructure challenges and reduces vehicle downtime. Supported by municipal incentives and partner logistics firms, the initiative is expected to electrify 1 lakh+ e-rickshaws within two years, setting new benchmarks for clean public transit.
