India is set to host the inaugural Global Summit on AI Ethics in New Delhi, bringing together global leaders, policymakers, researchers, and tech industry representatives. The summit will establish working groups on algorithmic fairness, privacy safeguards, AI in defense, and surveillance standards. Confirmed participants include delegates from France, Japan, Brazil, and Nigeria. India aims to position itself as a leader in formulating ethical AI frameworks and intends to propose a UN-style ‘AI Standards Council’ headquartered in Bengaluru during the summit.
